What would happen if we challenged ourselves to snuggle with uncertainty? We fear it, we avoid it, we struggle more because we are clinging so hard to an idea of certainty. When really, the only certainty through our lives is uncertainty.
I believe we get convinced of “certainty” from an early age. For many reasons we want the safety that certainty can paint for us. When really, this idea that influences so much in our life, is a myth. We avoid the reality, by clinging to something that we never actually have.
If we apply all the times we have accepted uncertainty to the things we cling to “with” certainty, what could of shift in our mindset would that provide. What kind of flexibility and strength would be promoted?
If you haven’t checked out my interview with Greg Bodin regarding flexibility with our emotions and thoughts, it would pair nicely with this episode.
